One of Etcetera’s favorite places is in the front window next to the Old Man cactus. She can watch the world go by and might have been watching me mow the lower 40.

Dadgummit Susan, I Told You the Lower 40 Does Not Need Mowing

Mowing the lower 40

I have a tendency to wait too long to do the first mowing of the season. Fortunately the Toro zero-turn radius mower made quick work of it. Now I just need to keep up.

Keeping Your Human Busy

April 14, 2008
Etcetera has figured out how to keep her human (me) busy. She pops the ball out of her Turbo Scratcher and chases them under the furniture. After losing three balls I started a search under the sofa and found them.

This time she got real lucky. I put all three balls in her Turbo Scratcher. Now, I figured out how to keep the cat busy!

Multiple Personalities

April 1, 2008

I came home from work today to wait for a delivery and found four deer and five squirrels eating from the birdfeeders – there were no birds. The deer and squirrels not only think they are birds, but both apparently think they are gardeners too. The deer spend the year pruning our bushes and flowers and the squirrels plant walnuts and Ohio buckeyes (the nuts, not the football players) in our yard. As a result, we are constantly pulling nut tree seedlings from unwanted locations in the yard, and our flowers lack the display attributes they strive for. After snapping this picture, I rushed out the back door yelling. That scared the crap out of them. I do thank them for leaving some fertilizer behind.
